Making Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles costumes was rather complicated so I opted not to stress myself out with that task this year and we just bit the bullet and bought them all. I'm starting to wonder why I ever make anything -- it was a joy to have all of our costumes purchased, delivered and DONE within 2 days!
The masks were INSANE. They weren't the most comfortable things to wear, but man, when we had them all on, it was a great looking group of turtles! Halloween fell on a Friday this year so when the kids got out of school, we went straight to the Carlmont shopping center to do their parade and trick or treat at the shops. Then we headed over to Lauren's house for their ever-awesome Halloween party. Their street was blocked off this year so the kids were able to play wildly (and safely) on the street before it got dark. They went ALL out this year on the decorations. Her husband set up a light show at their house to the "Thriller" song. Holy cow -- we could have watched that thing a hundred times. It never got old!
The kids and parents had a blast, as always. Such a fun, fun night!!
They went to school like this:
Of course we had to get a family photo:
We ran into one of Maddie's buddies, CJ (aka Batman) from Kindergarten
I haven't made jello shots in years! But they were a hit. I might have to break those babies out at future parties again!
Even the cops showed up!
Even Jaemie got into the Ninja Turtle spirit (I love this photo for so, so many reasons)
The light show! Tell me this isn't awesome!
