Thanksgiving in Austin

Thanksgiving was so relaxing this year.  It was nice not to travel and to have everyone here in Austin!  You want to know what was even nicer?  NOT COOKING!  We all went to the Hyatt downtown and enjoyed an amazing buffet, mimosas, bloody marys, and more.  They even had a fun photo booth, kids crafts and a kids buffet!  It was probably the easiest, most restful Thanksgiving we have had in years (and amazing food).  And boy did we need that! Thanks to Frank and Paige and the kids for coming to US this year!

Dex on camera

I rarely have time to upload videos anymore so when I got the chance today, I decided to upload LOTS and document them here. The other night, the big kids and I were reading through the blog and they were watching all of THEIR old videos of them as babies, and it broke my heart that I have very little of Dex documented here. So, here we go Baby Dex, these are all about YOU! We really can't get enough of you!

We just LOVE it when he belly laughs!

MORE belly laughs

He LOVES music and loves to try and jump right out of his chair when it comes on.

Max and Dex are getting along quite nicely.

He's getting really close to crawling!

Bye bye Fall sports, Hello Winter!

As always, time is flying. Jacob played Fall baseball and flag football and Maddie played soccer. These kids absolutely love playing sports and Mommy and Daddy love watching them! Jacob's flag football team won every game this season and lost today in the championship :(  It's always hard to watch such excited kids lose such a very tough game.  But I was proud of Jacob for shaking it off so quickly.  He's ready to move on to basketball!  We have one more baseball game left (that Mark is coaching) and then Fall ball will be over too.  While I love watching him play baseball, I'm really ready for a baseball break!

Maddie played an awesome season of Soccer and I think next Fall we will be putting her in the "junior academy" league which is more competitive and structured.  We should have put her in that league this year but we just weren't sure given her young age.  We've already received a couple of emails from the league wanting her to play again in the Spring!  She wants to play softball in the Spring though so we will pass on Spring soccer for now.  She just started basketball today and scored 20 points (out of 24!) in her first game!  Basketball is definitely where both of their passions lie.

Here's some pics from our sports this Fall.  Of course Dex has to tag along wherever we go but he doesn't mind.  He gets LOTS of attention!  We all love watching Jake and Maddie play!!
