"Look at all that hair!!!"

If I had a dollar for every time I heard that when someone meets Maddie, I'd be a rich woman by now. Apparently, this is her most distinguishable feature. Much like Jacob's cheeks. Whenever someone met Jacob, the first thing out of his/her mouth was inevitably "Look at those cheeks!"

I love that she has a lot of hair!! And I hope she doesn't lose any of it!! My Dad thinks we "fix" her hair like a little boy's hair and suggests that we cut bangs. Um, her hair is literally only an inch or so long so I think bangs are out of the question. Sorry Dad.

I guess I may have to bust out the bows here soon...

Smile!

Maddie has been smiling more and more each day and I finally caught one on camera. That and her double chin. :)

And Jacob still thinks he's a baby...

Like Brother, Like Sister

I think it's unreal how much Maddie looks like Jacob. There are so many faces she makes that remind me exactly of him. I was looking at pictures today of Jacob when he was about Maddie's age now and couldn't believe the resemblances. I guess since Jacob looks exactly like his daddy, then that means that Maddie looks exactly like her daddy too. Oh well, at least I got my girl. :) :)

Take a look...

Our First Road Trip

Mark, Jacob, Maddie and I took our first road trip to Houston last weekend...and survived! I was co-hosting Rachel's baby shower on Sunday. We left on Friday around 4 pm which was a huge mistake because we sat in traffic for a good hour. Maddie was not happy about it at all and cried for most of the first hour until we got going at a steady speed on the highway. Jacob was thrilled to have the DVD player in the car and was content watching Dora, Thomas and Little Einsteins (I was the lucky one changing the DVD at his every demand.) We made it in 4 hours which is longer than normal but the important part is, we made it!

The weekend was great. Jacob loved seeing ALL of his cousins (even Frank and Tori came down for the weekend) and the baby shower was a great success. I miss all of my girls already!!

Mark had to go to St. Louis for work on Monday morning and he flew out of Houston since we were there already. I was secretly terrified of driving back to Dallas with the kids by myself so when my Dad offered to drive back with me, I was so relieved (thanks Dad!) Of course, both Jacob and Maddie slept through the majority of the car ride back so it probably wasn't necessary, but I am not one to take chances!

Since we had all of the family together (which rarely happens), we jumped on the opportunity for some photos:

He really should win "Daddy of the Year" Award

Halloween night was a complete blast. Jacob and Mark got dressed up in their Scooby Doo Halloween costumes and looked fantastic. Jacob really understood trick-or-treating this year so as soon as we would get to a house, he'd run to the front door, ring the doorbell and scream "Trick or Treat!" And, as our sweet boy always does, he'd yell "Thanks!" as he ran down the sidewalk to the next house. We were out for over an hour and his pumpkin was overflowing with candy by the time we got home. Everyone loved the fact that Daddy and son were dressed alike. They were a hit on the streets of Southlake Woods!

Maddie wore her little kitty sleeper that Rachel gave her (thanks Rach!) and I wore her in the Bjorn while we walked around the neighborhood. She was a champ and slept the whole time. I already can't wait for next year. Especially with 2 kiddos getting dressed up...perhaps next time Maddie and I can dress alike!
