Jacob "moves up" to level 9!

Jacob turned 9 on January 30th and wanted to celebrate with a video game truck party!  We finally had a space big enough to entertain him and 20 of the boys in his class.  I'm still thankful the party was kept outside. :)  There was no telling what the weather was going to be like in Austin at the end of January but we ended up getting the most amazing weather - warm and sunny! 

I still can't believe he is 9.  How have 9 years really gone by?  I've thought a lot about him as a baby recently.  Now that baby #3 is almost here and its a boy, I keep wondering if he will be much like Jacob.  Will he look like him?  Have his same drive for perfection? Will he wear his emotions on his sleeve like Jacob does?

These 9 years have flown by and I now know what it feels like to see that childhood slipping through your fingers.  It's heart breaking and beautiful at the same time.  At 9 years old, he is a mini adult.  He's thoughtful, hard working, kind, sensitive, athletic, and silly.  He still loves electronics (ipad, wii, etc.) and actually gave them up for Lent because he knew he had a slight problem (ha).  He loves to read.  He loves to tell stories.  Sometimes I wonder if he'll ever take a breath in the car because he's talking so much.  He adores Maddie but loves to torture her too.  But mostly, he's an awesome big brother.  I can't wait to see how he's going to be with the baby.  It's going to be incredible to witness, I think.
