Maddie started softball this year and LOVED it. She did t-ball last year with the Belmont/Redwood Shores little league division but we decided to try softball this year since they immediately start off with Coach pitch and many people have told us that it's better than starting off of a tee. Since Maddie wants to do all things sports, she was all for it and what an amazing season we had! She played for the Cardinals and we had 2 of the best coaches EVER and her team was just phenomenal. All of the girls were really sweet, fun and very much into playing the game and we enjoyed getting to know all of the parents as well. What a great introduction to softball for her and us!
Here are a couple of videos of Maddie's hits!
Jacob is in his second year of the Belmont/Redwood Shores Little League Farm Division. In hindsight, we should have moved him up to the AA division but we didn't realize at the time that age cut offs were changing in favor of many kids moving up. He's having a blast this season on the Pirates though and was even "called up" to play in one of the AA games for the A's which was a great learning experience for him (and us). We can't wait to see what next year brings. Baseball is definitely one of Jacob's favorite sports!

Maddie loses her first tooth!
Maddie's bottom 2 teeth had been VERY wiggly for a while. They actually had the same amount of "looseness" (is that a word?) so I pictured them falling out at the exact same time, as just one big tooth. There were days she was excited about it and then days she was terrified about it. So we really didn't push to get them out since you never knew which side of the spectrum Maddie was on that day.
When I picked her up from school, her tooth looked like this. I knew that sucker would be coming out at any instant. I asked her if I could pop it out and she fearfully said NO.
Since it was a minimum day at school, I took the kids to Red Robin for lunch. As I was asking to be seated I looked over and literally just saw something fall out of her mouth. She was confused, looked down and started BAWLING "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" I see Jacob bend over and pick something up and sure enough, it was her tooth! We all started screaming with excitement (after she calmed down and I had to show her that there was no blood - ha). I actually think Jacob was more excited than she was!
We celebrated with milkshakes :)
I was convinced that the other tooth next to that one was going to fall out any second as well. I tried to get her to wiggle it out so she could say she lost her first 2 teeth in one day, but she was having none of it. Just like the first one, that second one would come out in it's own time. And it sure did, 2 days later :)

Crazy about Cabo!
I begged Mark to take us away on a trip for Spring Break. Life has been so crazy and hectic that I just wanted to go sit somewhere for 5 days and do nothing but soak up the sun and relax. Our destination? CABO! We had never been so we found an awesome all inclusive resort with a kids club and VOILA, we had the recipe for a perfect vacation. Jacob and Maddie pretty much stayed in the pool for 5 days straight and made friends along the way. We enjoyed some amazing meals (the Italian restaurant was FAB), a cupcake bar that was open all day and night and countless, delicious cocktails. The Easter Bunny even found us on Easter morning! But don't confuse the Easter Bunny with that crazy dude in the bunny costume on the beach (pictured below). I think that guy had one too many Margaritas...
It's so fun to travel now with the kids when they have a little bit more independence. We get to enjoy more relaxation time and they get to pal around the pool with friends. It was exactly what we needed!
