It's been a busy and fun Easter weekend. If I had to guess, ages 5 and 2.5 are perfect for truly enjoying Easter celebrations -- the egg hunts, the easter baskets, the parades and more. What little kid wouldn't EAT it up? Even more, we are blessed with awesome weather and neighborhood celebrations that are free!
We woke up Saturday morning and immediately got ready for San Mateo's annual EGGstravaganza at Central Park. This has become a tradition for us. Unfortunately, Maddie was too little for the "big kid" egg hunt and had to do the baby egg hunt. She didn't mind until she got a rubber duck as a surprise instead of candy. When Jacob came back with his bag full of candy, she was NOT happy. Soon Maddie, soon you will be old enough for the big kid egg hunt!
The pictures below aren't even half of what we took in the last 2 days. To see all of the Easter pictures, click here.
Daddy stayed with Maddie while she did her egg hunt
I went with Jacob to another part of the park for his egg hunt. As you can see, he was apprehensive at first.
But when we got on the field and he saw it scattered with thousands of eggs, he perked up a little bit.
He got especially excited when we ran into our friend Keaton from school.
And of course, when they yelled "GO", he was out there in a flash!
It wouldn't be a local celebration without Andy Z so after our egg hunt, we gathered at the stage to get ready for his performance.
Then Andy let all the kids on stage to dance to the music with him. Of course Jacob and Maddie know ALL of his songs!
Then we had to burn off a little more steam at the park and Jacob found another friend
Maddie was posing...
I HAD to post this picture of these little girls. I could NOT get OVER their outfits! They were too cute.
After naps, we dyed Easter eggs! Unfortunately my camera wasn't cooperating. Sorry for the blur.
Then we decided to take advantage of the awesome weather and ride bikes. Jacob has still been riding his older, 12 inch Lightning McQueen bike even though he got a new, bigger bike for Christmas. We urged him to try it out once more.
Maddie then wanted to ride Jacob's Lightning McQueen bike instead of her tricycle so Daddy put the training wheels back on so she could ride it and she loved it!
The Easter Bunny came on Saturday night and left these awesome Easter baskets for Jacob and Maddie.
And this note so they could find where their baskets were hidden.
They couldn't wait to tear them open
And then go hunting around the house for the hidden easter eggs!
After the hunt, we went down to Coyote Point to have brunch at the Poplar Creek Grill on the golf course. What a beautiful place to enjoy a buffet brunch!
We found some golf carts
And of course had to hop in them
Nanny and Papa sent us a gift card to Toys R Us for Easter, so off to the store we went.
And our favorite thing to do is ride bikes in the store. Maddie found a barbie helmet she liked and went cruising.
Maddie got a new guitar and Jacob got a new sticker book and game for his V Reader. Thanks Nanny and Papa!
We are now exhausted from all of the Easter festivities! Time for a big old nap!
