Every year on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, IHM hosts "Grandparents Day". It's a shame Nanny, Papa, Grandma and Grandpa are so far away because they haven't had the chance to see it for themselves. Mark and I usually don't go to Grandparents Day (because, well, it's for GRANDparents). But last year one of my friends told me that Jacob was upset that he didn't have anyone to do the tour with and participate. So Mark and I made it a point to go this year. You start off with Mass in the church, then you head over to the gym where each class has prepared a special performance for the Grandparents. Some read poems, some sang songs and some danced. For each class, there was a child that introduced the class and explained what they would be performing. When they gave the microphone to Jacob to do this for the 2nd grade, we were ecstatic! He had just found out that morning that he would be doing it and he was SO excited to surprise us. That kid is just TOO MUCH. So stinkin' sweet. Check it out:
And here is the 2nd grade's performance, "Albuquerque Turkey":
